Therapy Modalities

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A widely used and evidence-based form of psychotherapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Cognitive restructuring involves identifying and challenging irrational or negative thoughts, beliefs, and cognitive distortions. By examining the evidence and considering alternative interpretations, individuals can replace negative thinking patterns with more realistic and balanced thoughts.

Behavioral activation involves breaking negative cycles of avoidance and withdrawal.

CBT involves setting goals, identifying patterns, and coming up with strategies for change.

Logotherapy

The term "logotherapy" is derived from the Greek word "logos," which means "meaning." At its core, logotherapy focuses on helping individuals find meaning and purpose in their lives.

Even in the most challenging and difficult circumstances, individuals can find meaning and purpose, which can provide them with the strength to endure and overcome their struggles.

The lack of meaning and purpose in life can lead to an "existential vacuum," which may manifest as feelings of emptiness, apathy, or despair. Logotherapy aims to address this vacuum by helping individuals discover and cultivate meaning in their lives.

The goal of logotherapy is to assist individuals in discovering their unique purpose and meaning in life, leading to a greater sense of fulfillment, resilience, and psychological well-being. It can be particularly helpful for individuals facing existential crises, grief, loss, or those seeking deeper personal growth and self-understanding.

Motivational Interviewing

Commonly used in various healthcare and therapeutic settings to address behaviors such as addiction, unhealthy lifestyle choices, non-adherence to medical treatments, and other behavior changes. It can be applied as a standalone intervention or integrated with other treatment modalities.

By fostering intrinsic motivation and resolving ambivalence, it aims to empower individuals to make meaningful and lasting behavioral changes in alignment with their own values and goals.
